Not the black label lancero. The red labels are the regular opus while the black labels are made with the "Lost City" tobacco.
Is that a fact?

Here is a quote from Cigar Family by Brooks. Looks like the lance is just a lance, nothing more psecial than a regular Opus Lance.

Ok, I just confirmed, as was mentioned, the Lost City Lanceros DO have the black bands, but are NOT the Lost City blends, they are the regular Opus Blend...Apparently, there was a "screwup" at the factory...

Also, the Love Affair will be sold as a Semi-ish regular release, although the price on them I heard varied from $12-$18 each...

What do you mean? Lost City is the same as the regular Opus X line?
When they were first released, this is what they said (you can find Original here:

http://www.prometheuskkp.com/products/humidors/limited_edition/2009_le_lostcity.htm) :

After the movie was shot at Chateau de la Fuente, the tobacco plants were harvested and have been aged. Carlito Fuente has created very special cigars from these 5-year old tobaccos: Fuente Fuente OpusX The Lost City. All cigars made with the tobaccos planted for The Lost City come with the black bands.

In addition, Carlito Fuente is releasing two rare, aged FFOX cigars in a tribute to Andy Garcia and The Lost City: Fuente Fuente OpusX Lancero and Love Affair which come with the red bands.

In other words, the Lancero and the Love Affair are the exact same blend as the Regular Opus X, with a pretty band (and cost quite a bit more money)...

The problem came when people started getting Lanceros with BLACK bands (instead of red)...It came to pass that the factory screwed up when putting on the bands, and some Lanceros had Black bands (despite the fact they did NOT have the Lost City Blend)...

NOW, it seems that they are selling Lanceros with the black band which do seem to be the Lost City blend...

If I remember correctly, jj has a box of Lost City. I think I remember seeing them in the pics of the walk-in build he did a while back.
I wish I had a box of Lost City.

That post was incorrect and Brooks has stated so. I've also smoked many regular Opus lances and a few Lost City lances and they are in no way the same cigar.

I think I may order one just to try it out.

If I don't have an orgasm while smoking it, I will consider it not worth the price tag :headroll:

Wouldn't you like to know?
I think there is way more finesse to these then reg opus but I still really like the power and citrus flavour I get off younger opus. I think you need to have some of each around depending on what you are in the mood for.

It seems the statment Brooks made, makes both of us correct. There are some Lost City Lanceros out there that are just Opus Lanceros and some that have the Lost City tobaccy.

Yeah the ones with the red label are regular Opus lanceros and the black labels are made with the Lost City tobacco.

I am confused, according to Brooks post last year they put both red and black bands(factory mess up) on the Lanceros and they were just regular Opus Lanceros and this year they are black bands with Lost City tobacco? So, last year wasn't Lost City tobacco in the Lanceros and this year is?

My understanding as explained to me by a source who would know such things is that the black labels all have Lost City tobacco. I'm not aware of the screw up in the factory Brooks posted about. I'm not discounting what Brooks said just stating what was told to me.

I always was told that the red label Lost City (Lancero and Love Affair) were not made with the Lost City tobacco. I never had heard that it was a factory screw up. Never saw black label Lost City lanceros last year. I really liked the perfecto that was only available in the humidor.
