Padrons and age

I can't comment on the Anniversary Series and age, though I've heard from a number of people that after the 5-year mark or so they "loose something." I will say that the idea that "they already use 4-year-old tobacco, so no more age" is retarded.

Padron ages the tobacco, rolls the cigars and then ships them out, they don't age the cigars before shipping. IMO as well as the opinion of many... the Anniversary's do not age well at all. The traditional line on the other hand does age quite well.

I purchased some 2001 PAM's recently. They were flat and one dimensional. Just opened a fresh box and what a difference! I still vote against aging.

Good point. Its really not worth paying the extra for the age when dealing with Padron!

I like the anny's ROTT, and with some time on them. They are a different cigar though. ROTT, is a stonger cigar with more spice to it, agged they become much more mellow. I think people confuse loss of strength with not aging well. I have some 64 pyramids, with 4 years on em, and they are F'ing awesome, but more mellow than the newer ones.

Padrons seem to lose their luster when aged. The regular line ages well, but not the anni's to me.

Stay away from the 03's... the 05's should be good if you're going to smoke them all now. But consider the tobbacco in the 05's is already 10 years aging. Plan accordingly.
