Wow what a Christmas!!!! The wife and I went to Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica where we enjoyed one of those rare amazing meals. I had the Foie Gras for a starter, the Bone in Rib Eye for an entrée and the Buche De Noel for dessert accompanied by a bottle of 2001 Joseph Phelps Insignia (very generously gifted by Clint, I owe you big time dude!!!)

My cigar...A Tatuaje 2006 Cohete with a glass of 25 year old Macallan (bastards got me for $110 for the Macallan ouch). I don't even want to tell you how much the dinner was. You are not allowed to smoke in this hotel but we got a special OK and a special location for the smoke. This was a Christmas I won't forget.

Padron 40th nattie for the eve and a Drac post Xmas-dinner. Flavors on the drac still a bit muted but the sweet espresso, bitter chocolate aromas from its smoke are just incredible.

For several years I've had the same cigar every Christmas Eve - an Opus X Lancero. Kept the tradition alive this year. On Christmas Day I had a Padron FR 46th and an Anejo 77. Today, for the Synaxis of the Theotokos, it's a Padrom 80th Perfecto.

Life is good.
