I really started getting serious into this hobby last September. Before then I would have a cigar on occasion, but I now find myself researching , ordering / accumalating and tasting/enjoying. I also travel frequently and on occasion a few CC have found themselves back home. This afternoon , I received an order of Liga Privada #9 and Tatuaje J21 and find that I am basically out of room (XIKAR 100 Humidor) if I keep the CC and NC separated.

I think I have read in the past that you are not supposed to let CC and NC cigars marry. How true is this? The cigars I would move over to the other side are supposed to be similar (Tatujae Havana VI) as the CC , would this negativity affect the cigars? Am I being too anal?

For all I care they can marry and have kids.... I keep them on separate trays in the same humi for organizational purposes but wouldn't care if they were in the same tray. From what I understand it takes many months if not years for cigars to even begin to marry(non flavored cigars of course).

Thanks for the quick responses. So at the end of the day, i shouldn't worry if they are sitting side by side to each other.

Maybe I was getting to anal, but considering I am new to this hobby and I have gone down the slippery slope in a big way , I don't want to take a chance at ruining some really nice cigars that I have had the good fortune to acquire.

Putting together different type wrappers from different countries is no biggie man, relax. Unless you are looking at long term (5 plus years) then I would be concerned.

Only scented or infused (or dry) cigars should not be in the same humidor or cooler. If you are out of room get a small cooler for storage, then start to REALLY over due it.

I have CC and NC in the same humi, in same trays, and also touching. I don't have enough single CCs to have a full tray worth, so they share space.

I'd love for some CCs to pickup Nicaraguan spice, but I doubt that it will happen before they catch fire.

This is slightly off topic. But I have some dry cigars i've been trying to rehumidify and I've been having trouble keeping my humidor anywhere near 70%. In this humidor are also new sticks. Is this the reason why?

I'd keep them separate...that's me. If you smoke them fast enough there shouldn't be any worries:wink:

I mean dry cured cigars, usually not kept in humidors and are stored in much less RH than normal.

Your other issue try searching the storage section to help or PM myself or others for help. Usually new cigars add RH as most vendors keep the RH closer to 70%. Low 60% RH to about 70% and you should be good to go. For the dry sticks try to get the RH up slowly.

Don't worry about it. I have 3 desktops. First is Coronas, PC & TPC. Second Piramides, Belis & Corona Gordas. Third for Lonsdales, Churchills & DCs.

Dry, scented and infused cigars together with regular cigars are a definite no no. Aside from aging, I've never heard anything bad about keeping cigars together in the same humidor.

Same here, all my stuff CC/NC are in one humi. Like Red said, aromatic/infused cigars CANNOT be with regular sticks. If you are aging long enough (over 2 years) it might become a situation, but in that case you might as well keep those aging in a special seperate humi to keep your airflow down and help age properly.

Sell most of your NCCs and buy more CCs and you won't have to worry about it! :stretchgr

No, you're fine bro... flavors marrying from one cigar, to another, is a phenomenon that people have argued about for years...... but even those that contend it really can happen will agree that you're talking years and years without rotation (as long as we're not talking about flavored stuff). Just next to one another, in a tray, isn't gonna do anything.

Cheers!
x2

What I do have I keep seperate only because I'm trying to forget about them untill a few years down the road. If I had the ability to get them when I want and as many as I want I would let them rest beside my nc's without care. Might even help some taste even better.
