Had a Serie O Maduro last night and it would not hold ash at all. Anything past about a quarter of an inch, and it would fall. Has anyone else experienced this?

Better yet, what would possibly cause it? Thanks

Stored at 65% with Heartfelts, let it sit for a day prior to smoking, draws about every minute..

I've smoked my share of O's and while they don't hold exceptionally long ash, I've not had the problem you've described. Was it just the one or have you had this problem with any of the O's you've smoked?

Smoked a G this afternoon, despite the 20 deg. temp drop from yesterday. The ash held fine to over 1 inch. Had a Connecticut Reserve yesterday with the same result.

You don't smoke the ash, so i really wouldn't consider this a problem. And why call it a bad stick? The only complaint you had was a short ash. Of course you are smoking a lower end Oliva, the rollers for these sticks will not be the masters that roll the higher end stuff.

Sounds like a plan. To answer your question though the quality of tobacco and how they're rolled can affect the ash. You may find this interesting reading...

Not necessarily a bad stick, I worded that incorrectly. I thoroughly enjoyed it, however with every draw and just about every time I moved the stick ash fell. It was all over my clothes, the floor, just about everywhere.

I have smoked 3 or 4 O's and have never had one split or have had that short of ash. They did not hold ash as long as most cigars but I easily had 1/2" on all of them without even trying.

Got the caffeine shakes or dt's? Hehhe, just kiddin'. I smoked an O the other day and noticed construction wasn't as tight as other smokes that cost 2x the price...flavor was just as good though!
