OK, so I've decided to have a good Padron for the birth of my boy later this month, but which one???

While the Padron 3000 is one of my go to sticks, I have not had the pleasure of smoking any of the "top shelf" Padrons other than 1 1926 Serie (I think it was a No. 6), and that was awesome...

So all you Padron lovers...what should it be???
1926?
1964?
40th?
80th?
45?
46?
Anything else I'm missing?

I leave it in your hands fellow BOTL...

You really can't go wrong with any, to be honest... But - If I had to choose, it would have to be the 45th Maduro(I really love the size).

I haven't had the 45th or 46th though I hear the are spectacular.

Theres 3 kinds of Padrons your looking at.

1. Premium Cigars (Padron Classic Series) $2.00 - $6.00
2. Super Premium Cigars (Padron 1926 and 1964 Series) $8.00 - $20.00
3. Ultra Super Premium Cigars (Padron Anniversary cigars, 40th, 80th, 44th, 45th, 46th) $25.00 - $35.00

The first is very wallet friends and are all fantastic smokes. Their super premiums are some of the best $10.00 sticks you can buy, they are just great. And their top shelf ca run you $30.00+ on a single cigar, but is usually a cigar to me remembered.

If its a rare single special occasion I may get a $30.00 cigar, but for something like a new child I would do a box of something in the $10.00 range a stick.

Padron 1926 #6 Maduro would be my first choice. $300.00 for 25 cigars.

1 when he is born, 1 for every birthday until he is 18 and then share one with him. Share a cigar with him when he graduates school, and one when he gets married. This leave 1 cigar left over which I would save for when his first child is born, and he can start to smoke his cigar box of 25 and continue my tradition.

This is my plan at least.

Best to luck to you and your new family mate.

You should have made this a poll question. However the 80th is the king of Padrons and will blow you away. It really is that special occassion cigar. The 40th would fall second with any of the others in tow. All fantastic cigars in my book.

Touch choice, you really can't go wrong with any of them. Since your daughter is only going to be born once I'd go as top shelf as your wallet will allow.

You missed the 44.

They are all great to be honest, try a 45th, 46th or 80th maduro.

I'm gonna say the 45th Maduro (or a 44th or 46th)....but for a different reason....(although it's a fan effin' tastic smoke as well)...

BUT.....

It's the only Padron(s) with the word "Family" on the band (Family Reserve). Just a further reminder as you smoke it that you've been blessed with the gift of parenthood.

As others have said though, you can't go wrong....but the 45th (M) would be my choice.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...I think I've narrowed it down to a 45th maduro or the 80th...
Now the search is on to see what I can get my hands on.

Oh...
Touch choice, you really can't go wrong with any of them. Since your SON is only going to be born once I'd go as top shelf as your wallet will allow.

First cigar that sent me swooning. Not the only one or even best. But the best of that flavor profile and Padron IMHO.
