Useful as a humidor?

I received the CAO Champions travel humidor as a Christmas gift. (The red humidor with the zipper.) Can this be used as a humidor in lieu of a regular humidor? I have my cigars in it, and I put a CI "humijar" in with the cigars for humidification - but I am concerned that my cigars are drying out. Please advise. Thanks.

I saw it the other day, and it seemed to have a cloth interior with a "leather" outer. And only a ziper to hold in humidity. This would not be ok for any type of long term storage. As a way to take 10 smoke to a wedding or party to hand out, yeah it works fine.

You need to get a tupperware container and some boveda packs if you want to keep you sticks safe. I have several leather "envelopes" like yours, and they only get used as a way to take cigars from the house to give them away that night. If they come home with me, they go right back into a proper humidor.

IMO, could it work? Sure. Best option, no.
I may be alone in these thoughts, but:
Imo, airtight is not an issue if you don't mind keeping humidification source charged. This doesn't mean open air is good, just doesn't have to be NASA air tight.

But, my big thing is cedar, for any length of storage, cedar is a huge factor in flavor development in the cigars.

like david said ok as a temp but for longer term your gonna need tupperware or something else.

Gents - so, using the tupperware. I have a tupperware container in my room. Can I just straight cross level my cigars into this container withthe humijar? If my cigars are dried out, will that rehumidify them?

Theyre prob not dried out just slightly dry. Place all cigars in the tupperware with the humijar and in a week or so theyll level out.

I have one of these and it is lined with cedar. The box is tightly sealed before the zipper holds it together.

Make sure to season the cedar first, this may be why your cigars are drying out.

I would not recommend it as a perm humidor, but it works VERY well for a travel humidor. I don't even use a humi device when using it for a day or two.
