Here's the scenario:
You have a good friend whom has a taste for cigars. They ask you what are the best 5-10 cigars you've had.

What's would this list look like for YOU?
-Can be anything, nc/cc, forget about price, forget about availability, not limited to this year...all time.
-However, you have to have personally smoke it yourself at some point.

What 5-10 cigars would you direct your friend to?

Update:
Let's assume this is a seasoned smoker. Not a newbie. Doesn't need intro to brands, etc.

We're talking the best you have had for them to have.

I think more importantly than directing them towards specific cigars is educating them on different brands.

I recommend Padron, Oliva, CAO, Arturo Fuente, and Don Pepin Garcia.

Padron Classic series are really fantastic cigars and start around $2.00 to $3.00 a piece. Come in Maduro and Natural. Great flavor, burn, construction, the whole nine yards. Plus I mention their higher end cigars which are the best of the best.

Oliva Series 'G' is a great cheap smoke. Starts around $2.50 a piece and comes in Maduro and Cameroon. The Oliva Series 'O' is also a great cigar which is very affordable starting around $3.50 a piece and comes in Maduro and Sungrown. They also make Nub's which can be had for around $2.50 a piece through samplers and come in a wide variety of blends. The Oliva Series 'V' is one of the most flavorful and best made cigars around.

CAO makes quality cigars and great Maduro's. Though they are typically around $7.00 per cigar, you can find some great deals on them online. Brazilia, VR, Italia, Black, Gold, Gold Maduro, Criollo, Soprano's. All some of my favorite cigars.

Arturo Fuente's definitely makes some of the best high end cigars on the market. Opus X, Anejo, Casa Fuente, God of Fire, etc. The Hemingway series is great and pretty affordable. I don't care to much for their Gran Reserva but I know some do. The Don Carlos cigars are great as well.

Don Pepin Garcia makes some of best cigars on the market hands down. DPG Cuban Classic, DPG Blue, DPG My Father, Series JJ, 601, Tatuaje, San Cristobal, La Aroma de Cuba, and the list goes on and on. They can be pricey but are always great cigars.

DP, I should be more clear. Thanks for comments.

I added the V, but it's just the best cigar for the value in my humi. there are of course better cigars, just not for $4. I also added the Tat Noella.

id arrange for raul and habanos to allow me and the don to fly in and stay for a few weeks and we'd blend up a killer nic/cc smoke.

then the don would roll us up some dc's, no.2's, pl's, lonnies & A's

yeah, that would be about it

Well, after some thought if I had a friend that wanted some recommendations this might not be the list I'd give him...it depends on what his tastes were. However, if they were the same or close to the same as mine I think these would fit the bill...

Dirty Rat
T52
Tat 7th Reserva
Tat Verocu No 9
Padron 2000 Maduro
PAM (any of them)
DPG Black
My Father Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto
CAO La Traviata
Oliva MB3

Got some lower priced smokes and some nicer smokes. Not the most versatile in terms of brands, but hits the bigger players these days. One thing they have in common...they're all damn delicious (IMO).

Great thread!

In no particular order:

AF Anejo #77 Shark
Illusione cg4
Illusione mj12
RP Decade
Opus X #4
Opus X xXx
Rodrigo maduro
LP T52
RP Vintage 1992
AF Magnum R52

That's all I have to give due to the fact that I've only been smoking for a few months now. I'm sure I'll find others to replace the RP on there and maybe one of the Illusiones.
