Well now that I have 2 5" target 1911 .45's I decided to trick out my Kimber. This gun started life as a used Kimber Target II that I paid $500 for in good shooting shape with 10 mags, some leather, and 300ish rounds of loaded ammo. Here is what she started out with me as

I worked with a grip maker out of TX, and had these Liga Grips made, I had the 45 put on instead of the 9 being that it is a .45 and not a 9mm. Here she is today

The gun still has to go through Dura-coat before finished, I will put pics up when it is complete,

Nice looking grips and I look forward to seeing your pic's when it's all finished.

1911's are my favorite pistols by far.:bangbang:

Not even that big into firearms, but that just looks sweet. Can't wait to see the final product.

Very cool. I'm a 1911 man myself.
Be careful, though. You're heading down a slippery slope. First, it's grips. Then it's duracoat. Then the sights get changed. Then you checker the front strap. Serrate the top of the slide. And it goes on and on and on :bouncetau

well she has forward slide serrations, never cared for frontstrap checkering, and the sights are good. Duracoat is next, just wanna pick up my STI Ranger before i send this out.

Seems like a hell of a deal on that firearm with all those extras. Very nice grips too. Who is the grip maker?

That I have to keep under my hat for now
Fair 'nuff. Just thought they kinda looked like Sarge's work.

I so want a nice interesting set of grips for my new CDP. Just having a hell of a time deciding. Honestly, I'm starting to think I need more 1911s just so I can have a variety of grips.

<----Sick. :hysterica

I've seen some of sarge's work and it is awsome.

There isn't any stock gun out there, that can be tricked out cooler than 1911's IMO.

Long Live the 1911. You've been going strong for 100 years and you will still be around 100 years from now.
