The T-52 wrapper can make most anything taste good. Last February at Drew Estate I blended a lancero with a T-52 wrapper. I think it came out pretty tasty. Also AquaRich did a lonsdale with the wrapper that Jere reviewed here very favorably. It would be a winner.

No doubt...That wrapper is awesome. It is the one, singular element that keeps the T52 in balance due to its sweetness. That stalk cut process is freakin' amazing! All the oils, nutrients and sugars are retained in the leaf.

That was a really good cigar Tim, thanks for the opportunity to try one. I also remember how impressed Jon was with it when we were in his office smoking them, and IIRC, his personal preference is not for narrow RGs.

I believe the 9 is likely to have one... I'd have to imagine late 2011/2012... Jonathan?

I personally think all three blends (9/52/Rat) would do well in Lancero, but I'm a Lancero whore.

Oh yea, the smaller ring, the better. I know there is an LP "Lancero" out there in Pre-prod, though I think it's 40-ring or something, hence my "lancero" in quotes. Not sure if it's #9, T52, or Unicos-bound. I'd love to try it, the more of these wrappers, the better.

I'd also love to see 2nd or mixed-filler sub-line of the Liga Privadas (akin to the J Fuego Origen Originals or Illusione Cuchillos Cubanos). JD and SS are so meticulous, you know a lot of stuff doesn't make it to the boxes ... I'd like to smoke all that, lol. I'd happily take some off-color T52s or wholly #9s!

I too find calling a 40+RG cigar a "lancero" awkward, but if that's the name Jon wishes to use that's his prerogative.

I think that the Origen Originals are long filler - but I haven't disassembled one yet to see for myself.

Given that it's not a true size... lol.

Pepin rarely makes a true "lancero" most of the stuff he makes is 6 7/8 x 40, La Aurora has used 40 almost exclusively. Shame... I don't think they are better in that RG.
