If these taste like the blacks that Pete has been giving out recently, then they will have a different profile from the original cg blacks.

I was so tainted from the Tat Black Tubos, I simply couldn't get excited about this release. Won't have to do much to be better than the Tubos, so curious to see how these smoke for you guys. Hopefully they're excellent, but for me, this one was an easy pass.

Although I too am glad to hear it's a regular release, and I think with the later release being wet-packed, that's a nice consolation for no closed foot IMO....

Why all the haters on the black tubos? I like them. I seem to be in the minority, though.

I wasn't impressed with the tubos either, but I smoked one last weak and it was 10 times better than before. Mine have been resting in my vinotemp with the lids off at 65/65. I decided to smoke one just to see if I would be interested in the pet. lancero. And I was very impressed, I ended up snagging 2 5ers:)

Not my favorite stick and not nearly as good as the OR cgs or robos but I also enjoy them. I smoked one last week and thought it was great.

I see where Pete is quoted as saying he might be considering another regular production Black Label stick, in addition to the PL. It sounds like he currently has a good supply of tobacco to work with and could add another size to the line-up.

(I vote for a true Corona - 5 1/2" x 42. :ccool:)

I thought he said he was thinking of making the Petite Robusto a regular release, could be wrong though.

Sorry, my bad, I screwed up and didn't post the info here too...

This was the communication I got back from Pete regarding the production (reprinted verbatim with permission):

Pete Johnson/Tatuage said:
The cigars will be in full production but quantities will not be huge. Maybe around 20,000 to 25,000 sticks per year max. Available to any current full line dealer. I decided to make this and maybe another, full production now that we have the tobacco to work with.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he said PR earlier on in this thread. I'd be in for a box of those, too, but I'm with the corona size! I wish coronas were produced more often.

Yes...This was all posted early on in the thread.

Good info, though....Better to have too much than too little!

I think people didn't factor in that the OR blacks had almost 2 years of age on them when the tubos came out. The black tubos will probably be really good some time this year.

They've gotten way better since they came out.

I think the black tubos are pretty great too, but I think for the price point that they're at, there are some sticks that I significantly prefer. I've still got a couple of black tubos on hand though.

I smoked 3, not good at all to me. However I smoked a black robusto two nights ago that was amazing. They may be the same blend but come on , they are night and day. I know being a torp is not going to change it that much! Same with the cg. I know Pete says they are the same blend, but the torp is the only one that is consistently different.
