Really shocked that this one is allowed, though I guess you can sue anyone for any reason these days.

Cubatabaco is suing the owners of MI chain "La Casa De La Habana" for having a name that's too close to their LCDH moniker "La Casa del Habano", which may be confusing to consumers....

Given that all the true LCDH's sell are CC's, I'm not sure how one would be confused but what do I know?

They're preparing for the potential drop of the embargo, which would them allow them the ability to open up LCDH's across the US. Then, it would be an issue of confusion for them. That's my take on it.

Kinda been waiting for this to happen to be quite honest. For those who know me...this is my spot. Spend more time in lcdlh than any other shop. They have been around for years and have a few loactions. They put themselves in the spot light though when they opened the one in detroit. A lot of press and a little to close to the canadian border imo. It was bound to happen...not sure how far it would get. But the cubans are persistant and the main lines do have a lot of money backing them. I don't think that my shops will be able to compete legal stance.

I read about this on another forum, and this is a very interesting perspective.

If LCDLH does not do international business, does Cubatobacco have any standing to sue? Would be interesting to see an attorney's opinion on this... just for fun.
