I will start by saying I enjoy the brand and I have smoked a few LEs and regular releases from Viaje.

Now that I have said that, I will say that I have found a few of the LEs I have smoked to vary widely from one stick to the next. I am not only talking flavor profiles, spice and strength, but also construction. From the handful of 2nd release Skull & Bones that I have smoked, I have found them to be inconsistent to the point I feel like I am smoking an entirely different cigar.

This has also happened to me and a friend with the DES. I smoked one that was absolutely great. The burn was razor sharp and the flavor profile was perfect for me. He smoked one and it fell apart while he was smoking it.

The same friend has had similar experiences with the Skull & Bones. I can't speak for him about the latest Holiday blend, but I had a few construction and burn issues with them. I understand that there will always be slight variations when a product is completely hand made, but it seems to me that I have had this happen more with Viaje than other brands I smoke. Now I am not saying this to sling mud or anything and I plan to keep supporting the brand, I am just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

I've had a problem with the Satori's, the wrappers flacking on me and the brown stain on my lower lip and fingers. The Satori is the "only" Viaje that I personally have not really cared for.

I've heard many reports of the "stain" from these, but it's just the wrapper and rolling method, not dye or anything, so Andres said, and I have no reason to dispute that. It's pretty common these days to wet-roll cigars to give them a more uniform appearance.

I hadn't noticed anything wrong with my box of 50/50 reds. All burned razor sharp and tested the same.

The le's I've had have all been good, but its possible that I haven't smoked enough to see.

that might be why they are LE's and not regular runs. There's a reason why they were made in small batches. limited tobacco or tough to burn, variations in quality, etc.

Most of the LEs i've quite enjoyed, but I remember one guy saying the latest S&B he had tasted like burning tires. Everyone I've had was great, though.

I'll second that. May have the occasion crooked burn, but no major problems with any of the Viaje LE's I have smoked. And I have a box of almost every release.

I haven't had a Viaje yet, that has blown my skirt up. The Holiday was decent, but not worth running all round in a frenzy to find it. Other wise, bleh. Lots of other stuff in the humidor for me.

I have smoked many many Viaje since their release. I have
had maybe a hand full(5) that I had to touch up or
put to rest. Its weird though, I have had some that tasted different, but
not in a bad way. I almost enjoyed it in some weird way. what is this particular
Viaje gonna give me today.
