Bought a box when they were marked down heavily 2-3 years ago. 00 box code if I recall. After some rest, broke open and shared the box in a beach herf. Very tight draw with no flavors to speak of. Kept a few to see how they'd age and chalked it down to newbie foolhardiness after learning about the 'lost years' of Cuban production.

Well, smoked one tonite to see if I should unload these to clear some storage space. Draw was still tight but much improved. Still not much taste in the first inch or so then, bam! Creamy, mocha flavor seemingly out of nowhere. :jitb: Body, flavor, and complexity continue to build after the first third til the nub. :applause:

Did Santa swap these out over Christmas? :santa2:

Anyone tried these dc's lately? For me, Definitely now a keeper. :smokingbo

Have a few other vitolas of Punch & San Luis Rey From that sale era. Didn't try 'em then given the overpowering ammonia pre-light. Hope to taste 'em soon as the ammonia tones down.

Stored over the last few years at 70-80rh, 75-85f, local ambient conditions. Maybe the higher humidity and temperature helped 'em along?
