The Oliva V is tops in my book but IMHO it pretty much depends on the wrapper. I would love to smoke a Cabaiguan lancero in either maddie or natural.

The original El Triunfandor (Lancero Especial or whatever they call it now) is in fact a Cabaiguan maduro lancero.

But I LOVE the idea of a Cabaiguan NATURAL lancero ... ooooowww that would be good!

ANY line of cigars that you really like ... if they make a lancero, it's a must try. Period.

In some cases, the lancero will be far better than any other vitola (like the new El Triunfador blend or the Rocky Patel Fusion by AJ Fernandez). Other times it will be the same great flavors, just more concentrated (like the My Father).

It seems that pretty often the lancero will have less strength (i.e. over all nicotine punch) than thicker vitolas (like the Oliva V), which I assume is because there's just less room for the stronger leaves in such a skinny cigar.

I'll 2nd the first line

and add to the rest. The wrapper to filler ration is much more in favor of the wrapper in a thin ring gague cigar. So the wrapper's flavor is really able to shine through in a lance. I agree, less strength, take the LFD Double ligero Lancero. It is not a nicotine bomb like the rest of the line. There is just not enough room in a lancero to put to much of any kind of filler in it.

As far as which ones are good? all of them

Lot's of good suggestions here. I really dig the Illusionne HLs, Tat Especiales, and the OR El Triunfadores. Two new favorites are Jesus Fuego's Origens Lancero, and the La Aurora 107. They are a little harder to find, but worth the trouble. Oh, the Cubao Lancero.

are all go to cigars. There are so many out there. My advice, try all of them. You might just find a hidden treasure.

I don't think I've had a lancero I disliked yet. I am a BIG smoker of lancero's, easily my favorite vitola. I agree with each one listed so far, and I will add to the list the Swag by Oliveros lancero. Great smoke for around $5.
