Grabbed a HDMH this morning and found a small amount of mold starting at the foot. I immediately secluded it from the other sticks, and clipped the foot. I will keep it under observation. But, if nothing shows up - will it be okay to smoke? It seems that the golden rule is toss any stick where mold touches the foot...

If mold is on the foot it's possible that it made it's way into the filler and ruined the stick. If you've clipped the foot off you might as well throw the stick out in my opinion. Cigars are made the size they are because that blend is supposed to be best in that size. When cut you are tampering with that blend. Also if you are that concerned it was close to the foot that you had to clip it, it's not worth smoking. All of this is my opinion of course. YMMV.

I'd toss it because I don't like the idea of smoking mold, even if the little spot you found was the extent of the mold. It probably won't hurt you if you smoke it, but I wouldn't.

While I respect the above opinions.

F that, smoke it, today. A little mold aint gonna kill ya. No need to wait for more to grow. a little clip isn't gonna ruin the cigar either.

Smoke it. Why the hell not? Little more ain't gonna hurt ya and might as well get it smoked instead of any more growing and the stick being completely ruined.

Lol, I love this response!!!! Even, thou I don't agree.
I've heard, mold could be all laced in there and possibly quite unhealthy. But it's based on no experience.

Yea...I don't sweat the small stuff. I've had/gotten cigars that had a few mold issues (Nothing bad). I've only had sever mold on a couple which I threw out.
