These have been a staple in my humidor awhile so I couldn't pass up the deals flying around lately on the old blend. The last two I had were from a box thats been in my humidor since early December. Both were "off" - slightly bitter and acrid, nothing like the sweet nuances of previous experiences. Anyone who's smoking the old blend have this problem?

These are supposed to be aged a couple of years, so I wonder what good letting them sit awhile longer will do.

Regards,
Randy

Dont mean to thread jack here but I picked up some of the old PDR selecions. They weren't off but really lacked in flavor untill the last third. Now the first 2/3 you get nice aged tobacco but nothing else then the last third nice creamy buttery flavor. Wondering if i let them sit will they lose that last 3rd flavor also.

I've only had great experiences with PDR cigars as of late. I've had a couple of the PDR Oscuros over the last few months and they've definitely lent them selves to the sweet notes you speak of.

I got mine delivered last week and fired one up yesterday. It was a little dry and hot, the flavors were still there but it took half a stick before it calmed down. I'm gonna pull these out of the cello and let them get back up to where they belong, I'm thinking they're at about 60% right now. I'm confidant they'll come back.

Good to know...I'll have to let mine nap some before I smoke one then. Not that that'll be hard what with the two foot of snow on my deck :frown:.

I got a box of the corona's in recently, and had one and it was very good after only a couple of days to get it re-acclimated to being in a humidor. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I have just really have fallen in love with PDR's product over the last four months. NHC has good deals and CI has been pumping out the old blend at rock bottom prices. even Famous auctions has stellar deals on the Sun Grown.
You can't beat'em for the price.

Well, I guess I'll try and revisit a few of these over the next couple weeks and see if they improve. Maybe I just smoked a couple duds. If not, I'll let the rest of them sit awhile longer.
