Guantanamera Cigars

Not so good! Never had one, so today while working at the lounge, I bagged up 20 samplers to put on sale, all different combos of stuff. Guantanamera was one of the cigars in one of the packages...thought I'd give it a try. Ugh, vile!

Yea, the Guantanamera was the first cc I ever smoked...I honestly thought it must have been fake, because I thought it sucked! The $5 Jamaican-made stick I had later on that trip was a billion times better.

I believe they are machine made, and they seem to cater towards tourists who don't know any better (like me at that time).

Both are absolutely horrid, CC and NC.

They were machine made; yet in 2006 production stopped, so all that is left is tofinish the ones out in the market.

OK seriously guys.

My uncle - who knows nothing about cigars, just that I enjoy them - gifted me a 5'er of these (the CC's) and an issue of Cigar Afficionado for Christmas.


I smoked one last night and....I really don't see what all the INCREDIBLE hate is about.


Was it the greatest thing I've ever smoked? Hell no.


But it was mild and pleasant in flavour, and burned perfectly. Razor-sharp burn line, no touch-ups required.


To me, the only really bad thing I could say about it was that it's quite flat. There aren't many flavours going on there.


But like I said, it was pleasant enough.


I really don't get why people are talking about these like they're rolled up dog poop.

yep, i had some tubos back in thaday from a purchase here, and I liked them enough. A littl cuban twang to them, and ugly as shit.

When I opened the gift I immediately came on here and searched for opinions on them.

I read this thread, and was basically gearing myself up to have to lie through my teeth and tell my uncle I enjoyed them.


But you know what? I actually did enjoy it.


I genuinely do not understand the hatred they have received.

Again - not the best thing I've ever smoked. But for a quick 30 minute shot of sweet tobacco and cedar flavours, I found it very pleasant.

No offense to you, but me personally, I got better things to do than to sit and smoke something "quite flat" without flavor. Life is short, smoke good cigars.

It was a gift, so it's not like I wasted money on it


All I'm saying is, people here make it sound like they rolled a tobacco leaf around a turd.
