Both the #1 and #2 are good, but I prefer the #1. It is an excellent, underrated stick and a tremendous value.

I split a box of #2's a good while back...and perhpas smoked more of those than any other marca. Performance was one of the most consistent Ive experienced (which isn't vast by any means). They always burned well, never had any draw problems, and the flavors were good. After the PSD4 and the lone single of the Trini T I smoked, I would say the #2 is in the running for my top 3 robusto for sure....but I've got a lot more sampling to do just yet....to include getting my hands on some #1's ;).

I concur with the above, the JL #2 from 08' is coming into its own right now and should improve. The JL#1 is a nice creamy smoke, the one I had recently was from 08' and it was very tasty.

As an aside I think the 08' CC's in general are shaping up to be a nice vintage, havent really had a bad stick recently.

Not the biggest fan of the JL #1, I always have a box of JL#2 in the humi. The 08s are very good

Jim,
I see most of the comments saying its good, so I dont really understand your post unless you are saying its not a good stick. If you are saying its not a good stick, then thats your personal prefence, but thats totally subjective and based on your pallet, which is unique to you and not me or others. To me they are infact very good. I prefer them over 3/4s of the robustos. As the saying goes smoke what you like.

i'm guessing that in this case, underrated means not mentioned in the same breath as cohiba, monte, r&j, etc. it's not a big name that you typically hear guys say "i'm gonna buy a couple of boxes of jl's!". maybe underrated is the wrong word?

same here..#1 is ok but the #2 is where it is at. I have a box of 08 #2's and they have a very unique flavor to them..best way to describe it is red wine with fruit..sangria!
