I just received my order which the wife bought me and ta-da... mold.

The af chateaus i got were still in the plastic wrapper, closed and sealed, and when I opened them and removed the cedar looking wrapper thingy, there were white splotches on about 4 or 5 of them.

I wiped it off and it came off clean without leaving any stains but im just pissed as all hell.

Throw em away or what? I only have one humidor and they arent that expensive, doesnt seem like plume or whatever because it was cotton looking.

Ruined my day dang it.

That is mold. No question in my mind. AF in cedar tend to do this. Especially Anejos. If it is not in the foot it is cool. I would let the vendor know.

I would tell the vendor, but at the same time, a couple small spots are no big deal. Wipe it off, and keep an eye on them for no new outbreaks. It's not like you're putting them in the bottom of a huge cooler for 5 years rest. You'll be able to catch it before it speards. Besides that , if your humidor is maintaining the proper humididty and temps, you won't be seeing mold growth. I say keep em ad smoke em.

will do , and thanks everyone.

I will be getting a bigger humidor in the coming weeks as soon as I figure out what I really like and what i just dont care for, and as always, just starting out seriously, what you dont like early on you may like later once the pallete evolves.

ILl keep an eye, those arent expensive sticks but the Hemingway Best Sellers on the otehr side of the divider are and id really be ticked if I saw them get infected..

As was already mentioned, Fuentes are unfortunately notorious for this issue. Take off the cello and cedar sleeve, wipe 'em off and you'll be fine.

Just leave the cedar off. (let 'em sleep nekkid!)

I emailed the company and was very nice about it and didn't ask for a refund. Told em they may just want to check their stock.

Got A reply today. They told me that basically I'm retarded and the white cotton splotches are plume not mold and I should be happy they arrived that way. So I replied a not so nice email n now wait n see.

Oh and this is the second time in 2 orders I've had a problem n the customer service sux. It's Thompson cigar by the way..... Never again

F@CK Thompsons.

Do not ever order from them. They pay big money to be at the top of Cigar internet searches, so that they can snare the new guy, or a well meaning girlfriend who want to buy some cigars for a boyfriend.

There are many great online retailers. Steer away from those like Thompson. Although, they have been around for years, they are substandard. Look to those that are site sponsors and you will do well.
