I'm a pretty big CAO fan, yet I've never had the CAO Criollo. Anyone enjoy these?

I noticed on Holts that they are on closeout. You can get a 6 pack of the Robusto's for $15.00.

I've had a couple, this is a real confusing cigar to figure out. i've smoked the Pampa(4x38) and the Mancha (5.5x46) which had different flavor profiles. I am no flavor expert and pallet is not "refined" but this is what i noticed.

What is the same is that they are a Med-Full cigars. Both give off nice creamy smoke with hints of sweetness. after that the differences come in. the Pampa you get a lot of spice with a nutty cocoa profile but the spice is dominant. If you like spice this is for ya. in the Mancha I got more of a Toffee/Coffee profile with a sweet spice in the background.
I've only had about a fiver of each so no expert but that's what my experience is. But for that price worth taking a shot.

If I hadn't known better, I'd have sworn these have a Habano 2000 wrapper, which does nothing for me at all. I get tobacco flavor only with a harshness that I have trouble describing. I only tried 3 or 4, though, and that was a few years ago. Maybe I should revisit, but my recollections are less than positive.

I was just talking to a buddy about these the other day. I have always enjoyed them. But speaking of CAO, out of a 10 pack of Brazilia, I had the wrapper crack on all 10, my buddy mentioned that every CAO he ha purchased has done the same thing. Has something changed> I know they were bought out, did they change who makes them?

This disturbs me as well...

CAO Brazillia was my first real cigar. It was a nice dark wrapper with a great texture and an awesome unique flavor. I bought a 10 pack of the Gols from CI about a month and a half back for like $26.00 and I noticed a big difference. The wrappers were much darker, thinner, oily, and kind of hard. Hard to the point that it has no give and cracks if you hold it to hard or cut it. The flavor isn't as good as I remember from the past ones I've had.

I hope there is no change in the CAO cigars, they make some great cigars and some of my favorite maduros. Brazilia, Italia, MX2, VR, La Traviata Maduro.

I also got a few rare CAO's I'm saving. A CAO Rock n Roll edition and a CAO 615.
