Hey guys,
I'm in the middle of setting up my vinotemp and just had a quick thought about calibrating my hygroset. If I were to calibrate my hygrometer using a 65% pack instead of the 75.5% pack will it read more accurate reading 65% which is my desired humidity? I'm using 1/2lb of 65% heartfelt right now but I got a 1lb of 65% shilala on its way.
I'm probably putting too much effort and thinking on +/- 1% but I always seem to go overboard with all of my hobbies, lol.

Thanks,
-hawaiian

I have 70% HF beads and my vinotemp consistently reads around 66% which is perfect for me. You have to remember that the boxes, wood, opening and closing door are going to cause the RH to drop. If you went with the 65% beads I am sure it will read less than that. If that's your preference that's fine. As longs its in the 65% +/- 2% range I think you are fine.

Doesn't really matter what RH you calibrate at. I like the 75 just because it makes me feel more confident. No reason really. I keep my sticks at 65%/65F

Depending on where you want to keep your humi level. There will always be a tolerance if you calibrate with 75.5%

If you are keeping at 65% I would calibrate with a 65% pack so there is no question relating to the environment of your storage.

Thanks guys. I decided to calibrate with a 65% pack at 65 degrees since that's where my sticks will be at. Here's what I found after several days of testing.

All calibrated using the 75.5% boveda calibration kit at 65 degrees

Day 1 calibrated to 74% - in the humi it read 61%
Day 2 calibrated to 75% - in the humi it read 64%
Day 3 calibrated to 76% - in the humi it read 68%
