Yeah, this is what they want,

"The council also considered prohibiting smoking inside homes unless all windows and doors of the units are closed, but tabled that provision for further study.

"We are not yet ready to regulate smoking within houses," said Mayor Pro Tem Cynthia Conners".

This is very scary! Last I knew we still lived in the United States of America. Who the !$&@ is some ultra left wing loon bitch to tell me I can't smoke on my property. It makes me feel good to know I will never have to deal with this crap in NH, at least in my life time.

It ain't just left wing, it ain't just CA, and it ain't just the USA. This stuff is happening all over the world, and we have to fight back whenever and wherever we can.

Yeah but it's OK to use your remote starter and let your car idle for 20 minutes under my open bedroom window every morning.

Well, its good to know that they are crazy and that this probably won't happen elsewhere, but I can still see anti-tobacco lobbyists using this as fuel for the fire :(

Won't be long and you won't be able to smoke in your own detached house.

Outside Orange County, Belmont has prohibited smoking inside all apartments and condominiums that share common walls with another unit. Calabasas has prohibited smoking in all indoor and outdoor common areas in multi-unit housing, and in Northern California, Dublin has a similar ordinance that affects apartment buildings.
Thirteen cities and jurisdictions in California - Contra Costa County, Sebastopol, South Pasadena, Pinole, Pleasant Hill, Richmond, Rohnert Park, Dublin, Loma Linda, Novato, Calabasas, Belmont and Temecula – have prohibited smoking in a certain percentage of units in multiunit housing complexes, according to The Center for Tobacco Policy & Organizing. The ordinances are an attempt to protect tenants from exposure to secondhand smoke, according to center reports.

Thirty four cities and counties in California have smoke-free housing policies, meaning ordinances that restrict smoking in residential areas in an effort to address secondhand smoke affecting neighboring units, according to the center.

Shame on the smokers of that community for not fighting for their rights!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think that smokers are the only ones that should be alarmed. Any time a group is seeking to take away personal freedoms like this, it should alarm people. It's ridiculous.

Retirement communities are like this. Here near Sacramento, there is a community called Gold River. I know some folks that live there and it's like living in Germany circa 1939. They can't even hang a freakin garden hose where it's visible from the street. So this smoking ban doesn't surprise me.

I just can't wait until I can buy myself a few acres and not have neighbors, then smoke whenever the hell I want without bothering anyone. I know it's my right to smoke, but if I know that someone in my vicinity doesn't like the smell of smoke, it ruins the experience for me... I just can't relax.
