Just had my first La Aroma de Cuba EE. I must say I'm quite surprised. It's not your typical Pepin cigar. There's really no spice to it at all, its quite smooth and well balanced. I expected it to be good, and it was, just in a different way than expected.

How does the Mi Amor compare to the EE? I gotta get my hands on a couple now.

I was at an Ashton tasting event where they featured the EE. Basically, you take a sip of tequila, then a puff of the cigar. Do the same with some dark chocolate, and a plain almond. The flavors you can pick up on this cigar are crazy. Needless to say I bought a box.

I got 3 of these in a Sampler from CI. Came to $3.00 a piece.

3x La Aroma de Cuba EE Belicoso
3x Tatuaje Havana VI Robusto
3x San Cristobal Robusto
3x DPG Blue Toro
3x DPG Cuban Classic Robusto

It was like $40.00 or $45.00 I can't remember. Every damn thing in the sampler was good so hard to pass up that deal.

I have a few belicosos in my humi but haven't lit one up yet.. I'm thinking they're more Cabaiguan-esque than tatuaje-esque???

Very tempted now to spark one tonight.

Love the La Aroma de Cuba EE #5 Belicoso. One of the few high rated cigars CA got right when they named it #11 in 2008. Very smooth and well balanced and perfect for a morning smoke with a cup of Joe.

LOL...for what it's worth, I've heard of similar tastings you described...also with a LAdC, but only the Mi Amor blend...and with Rum as opposed to Tequila. The folks who tried it were equally as impressed as you were...and I'm sure it does add a different dimention most haven't yet tried. Someday I'll give this a shot myself.

I did have a bite of Chocolate chip cookie with a Monte Petit Edmundo recently...and that paired quite well w/ the cigar (not so much with my beer though...).
