Allow me to take a moment to chime in if I may. As you have noticed, there was a pricing issue on our website that took place on the 17th and was noticed today. This resulted in prices on cigars being posted with obvious errors, and too good to be true pricing.

As a result, we have taken all the cigars down from our website until the pricing errors have been corrected. I have identified the issue, and more importantly the employee responsible for the error which will cost the company in excess of $5000.

While it would be easiest to just cancel the entire lot of orders, and state a website error, I do not believe that is the prudent thing to do. As a merchant the prides itself on being reputable, it is my intention to make good on these purchases. As long as our supplier has sufficient stock and/or allows us to purchase the inventory, we will make all customers whole.

I must say VERY honorable!

Just a prediction, but that decision, will probably pay off in the long run. I guarantee you will be earning more business, due to being a stand up retailer. Thanks.

I snagged an Acid Collectors Tin for my father-in-law. He loves acids, and this thing was 19.95 shipped from cheapcigars. Pretty nuts, because the lowest I have ever seen it go for is 45.

HERE IS WHAT'S INTERESTING:
The entire "cigar" menu on their site is currently not even listed (as of 10:14 p.m. central, 2.20.2011). You can search for a brand, and nothing comes up for cigars. I placed my order about 30 minutes prior :)

We wait and see...

I`ve purchased cigars from CheapHumidors in the past, and they are good folks to buy from. Their prices were always fair and reasonable.

They`re willingness to honor the erroneous prices described in the above posts is further proof that they are a retailer of the highest quality and integrity.

Based on all of this, I will try to make them my first choice for my future purchases whenever possible.

I would hope that people who took advantage of these great deals would also go ahead and pull the trigger on a regular priced box as well.

Wow, I'm shocked at the amount of people that piled on and took advantage of a mistake by cheaphumidors. I hope most of you reconsider and cancel your order. What if it was your shop?

Boy, I feel pretty bad about posting this now. I figured it was an error, and expected maybe a dozen comments confirming that. I foolishly didn't foresee the feeding frenzy costing the company $5000. Hell, I didn't even place my own order!

On the bright side, it does look like this great site has earned a number of loyal customers through this F-Up, and may eventually come out turning a profit because of this. I hope so, anyway.

While I was not in the shark tank. It was the company's decision to honor the mistake. Just my two copper pieces.

You just got yourself at least one lifetime customer and believe me, I will tell everyone I know about the stand-up service from CH.

Someones getting canned.
While that would be the quickest way to deal with it, here's what I would do. After talking to the employee and reprimanding them, I would give them the option of either being let go or repaying the business for their error at $100 a week from their paycheck for the next year (if they leave beforehand, it's payable immediately and have them sign an agreement). As a business owner, I just bought their loyalty and in these economic times, made them appreciate their job even more. Maybe it's because I believe in giving second chances because everyone makes mistakes.
