Are we (cigar smokers) demons?

I'm forced to come to Radio, the local watering hole here in Oakland where the smoking area is upstairs and caged...I can post pics haha, to get some work done while I enjoy my pipe and then a cigar.

Door is open. Four cigarette smokers come in, I've got my pipe and I'm lighting it. ROom is full of smoke. I'll repeat, door is open.

THey leave, I finish my pipe. I've worked hard, it's time for my Azteca. I"m the ONLY one here. Bartender comes up to clear off their glasses (I always bus my own table) and says "Man that cigar is stinkin up my bar.
Me: GOod.
Bartender: Not good. Smells like crack. Either put it out or close the door.
Me: Close the door.:stickbeat

I've been in here with crackheads (not my friends) and had no problems. I'm a decent friend of the manager's who happens to not be here. So I ask, are we cigar smokers demons?

And is it bad that I want to open a cigar/pipe bar and disallow cigarettes and cigarette smokers?

My options? Smoke outside (in the summer this is good) or go to Occidental. I don't want to always spend BART and bar fare.

Just venting...

Btw, great idea on the Newbie contest I missed the call and HERFING in Oakland or SF is kinda hard right now. Luckily I can pop into Grants tomorrow before I go to Drunken Kinky Writers meeting at a restaurant that has awesome booze and duck sausage...

Regrettably we have all had to go thru these types of ordeals and with legislation in many states it ain't gonna get any better.

I'm a 1%'er....I smoke in my own house, in my living room in front of my big screen tv....I wish it was that way for all my friends and brothers! :cbig:

Not at all. Just something you have to deal with. I don't expect people to understand why I like tobacco or why I choose to smoke it. I don't understand why people have to be such douches about it though :dunno:.

The manager I've been told sort of customized that area solely for me. He's a biker type guy who has added some better liquors to the bar menu and even though it's a dive bar, he's trying to go for a slightly higher class of patron I think.

I figure I'll either ask him or just let it slide as no one else has complained and my GF pointed out that unless a customer complains the guy was just being an ass.

When I lived in Madison, the only cigar bar in town had to prohibit cigarettes as part of their narrowly-granted exemption to the citywide smoking ban. Kinda funny to see cigarette smokers huddled outside the door in the frigid WI winter while the cigar smokers relaxed in the warm lounge.

I think next time you're gonna have to confiscate his man card and not give it back until he learns to appreciate the good leaf. What a douche.
