Wow…What a great cigar!

Earlier in the day I had cut back a bunch of “trees” (not sure what they are exactly...Just knew that they needed trimming badly) and I had a pile of 1” to 2” limbs that I needed to cut smaller so I could toss them into the green bins.

Since the hard work had already been done, it was the perfect chance to grab a smoke to make the job more enjoyable. :)

I perused the humidor, and realized I hadn’t had a Barclay Rex since they first came out….Bingo.

Nice afternoon, my dog and my daughter playing, and the outdoor speakers providing the tunes….Sweet.

Beautiful looking cigar with the covered foot and the pigtail framing a nice, slightly oily wrapper.

To me, this cigar didn’t switch gears a lot…Just a consistent profile from start to finish. When that profile is as good as the Barclay, a roller coaster ride of changing flavors isn’t necessary.

Pepper, espresso, molasses and earthy goodness…Yum. Tons of effortless smoke, even burn, and great construction.

Enjoyable from start to finish :)

Completely agree with you, Clint. The B.Rex 100th is the best NC stick I've had, beating out the Padron 40th Maduro.

Can't wait to revisit it :)

Great review, Clint!

I would absolutely love to get my hands on one of these someday, being both a fan of Tatuaje and of the Barclay Rex establishment.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend!

Simply one of the best cigars released from Tatuaje...Clint is correct, the profile of this cigar does not change much throughout the stick. It is just great the whole time...

God these sound great. I've only heard good things.

Any possibility these could become a regular production under a different name (similar to the T110)?

Nice, now I need to get my hands on some. Although, I'll likely not smoke this during yardwork :eyebrow:. Thanks for sharing!

I think am one of the few who think this cigar is good, but not the greatest thing in life ever. The construction is impeccable and the cigar looks gorgeous, but I always have to relight these. Flavor-wise, I think these are lacking. There are parts are the cigar where the flavors just disappear or they're very muted. Maybe more rest will do them some good.

Thanks for the review! Glad it was enjoyable for you, nonetheless.

I've only had one T-Rex, but my experience was similar: very strong, complex, spicy, though not dynamic (in terms of thirds). Awesome cigar. Reminded me a lot of the Pork Tenderloin, another of my favorite Tats.

Honestly, apart from possibly the Reserva SW Maduro and the Boris, the T-Rex & PT might be my favorite Tatuajes. I thought the SW Maduro had more character (and was a bit more dynamic), but the overall power and spice of the T-Rex is right up my ally as far as what I'm after these days.

It's a challenger to the Padron 45th, if you want to know the truth.

I have had those same issues and think for some reason the consistency is not there. BUT, when they are on and burning well, they are fantastic...

I KNEW someone would say this!!

Like I said, the yardwork was pretty easy...Just cutting up small branches and tossing them into the green bin.

I was able to enjoy it :)

I've smoked 3-4 of these and they all were pretty consistent in terms of flavor and construction. Very strong and spicy cigar, IMO. Damn, I shoulda' got a box!

Tatuaje has come out with so many great smokes. That said if I had to choose 3. (I'm greedy)

They would be, in no order:

Barclay Rex 100th <---- they get TANGIBLY better with each passing month.
Black Tat CG Jar Release
2009 L'Esprit Verite <--- Yup, I ain't lyin! It's THAT good ROTT, imagine what it will be like in *insert time here*

Just a rumor-heard from inside source that barclay rex is possibly re-releasing the
100th stick around xmas time. Heard they might call it "the last dance". One can always
dream!
