In Toronto you should check out the following
Cigar Studio - in Toronto's West end. He's got a web site, and really nice.
Cheers - He's not on the web, but located on McCaul, just North of Dundas. Cheapest prices you'll find for Cuban cigars anywhere. He's a bit of a grump though.
Frank Correnti - He's on the web as well. On King St near Bathurst. 100% see this guy. Hand rolls his own cubans on site. A lot of stars get there sticks there when they visit TO.
Cigars for you - Up in the North end, on Steeles. Nice guy, reasonable prices for Canada, and a big walk in Humidor. Good selection of NC's.

I've pretty much been to every B&M in Toronto. Stick with the above four. Thomas Hinds is a nice shop, but you'll get mugged at the check out. Caters to a more 'sophisticated' crowd. So does LCDH in Yorkville.

I'm just north of you on Trafalger. Where are the spots in Oakville you go?

BTW... Welcome!!!

Thanks! Have had a fresh rolled Correnti gifted to me but have never been. Used to live in the Grange on McCaul/Dundas 10 years ago will try my luck at Cheers.

In Oakville, I visit Havana Castle which is owned by 2 brothers I think. Lots of NC's and a small walk in of CC's. One of the cheaper places by Canadian price standards I've been to. Plus they aren't uptight so they don't need to hold your hand to go into the walk in.

Celebrity on Cross/Trafalgar has a decent selection of CC's and NC's but pricing is expensive in my opinion. Almost makes a Don Tomas a premium stick by Canadian pricing (ok I kid! Almost!). Owned by a husband and wife. Wife is nice but they have to accompany you into the walk in.

There's another place on Dundas/Prince Michael in Oakville as well that I seldom visit. Purchased a Padron 6000 when my second daughter was born. Small with limited selection. Last time I passed by think I saw behike's and davidoffs there. Prices on par Canadian wise but I find the rh of the cabinet humidors (no walk in) a little low for my liking.

I'm on Bronte and Upper Middle. So I tend to make the 1 hour trek to Buffalo to visit Virgil Avenue smoke shop. Good selection, nice sized walk in humidor and lounge. More importantly, I get to take advantage of US pricing and the exchange rate.

I'll check out Havana Castle soon. See how the prices are compared to cheers.

How are the US prices? I hear NY has equally insane taxes. Not sure if it NYC, or the state.

Very good tips, I didn't know about these :)

Unfortunately it is the state as a whole :(

Any good spots to check out in Toronto? Been to The Smokin' Cigar Inc last Friday. Was pleasantly surprised with the flavour of their house blend Nicaraguan toro for the price although the second one I purchased tunneled forever. Also picked up a Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta robusto and a Gran Habano Azteca puma. Both equally good but would definitely purchase the puma again to rest.

Next on my list to visit would be Thomas Hinds and the Cigar Bodega.

I'll be in Miami for a few days next week definitely going to visit Don Pepin's factory on Calle Ocho.

I'm on my way gentlemen :ccool:
Have a great time in Miami. I would recommend taking the time to walking up calle ocho. There are a lot of factories/cigar shops there. Pepin's, titans, la gloria cubana, padilla to name a few.

When you are at Pepin's shop, ask for any overruns. When I was there, the sold me a few bundles. The guy said that they were made for a special release however, were rolled a little too large to fit into the packaging. My guess is that it was for the NHC limited release, based on the size and colour. Who knows. It is a a good smoke though.

Just down the street is Padron. Worth the visit to say that you were there and snap a few pics.

When going to Buffalo, I would recommend going to Smokin Joes. Very good pricing there. Best in the area. Talk to either Dom or Mike and tell them Art from Canada sent you. Good fellas.

I don't typically buy retail however, The Smoking Cigar, Thomas Hinds and the LCDH are all good shops. Nice people there. Only go there when a cuban cigar roller is in town.

Hope that this helps

Have partaken throughout the years on many a special occassion but have become an avid cigar smoker for a year now. Currently residing in Oakville, Ontario, Canada but am a Montrealer through and through (go habs!)

I frequent/support my local smokes shops here in Oakville but love to search and visit different shops throughout the city. Huge fan of NC's in spite of the availabilty of CC's at my disposal. Due to Canadian pricing I often cross the border into Buffalo, NY to purchase my smokes.

Anyhow, apologies for the long winded introduction. Happy to be here! :cbig:
:welcome: I'm originally from a small town outside of Buffalo myself! Used to visit the Canadian side of the Falls occasionally.

Just finished a Brick House toro and it didn't live up to my expectations. Maybe it's my undeveloped palate but it was one dimensional and uneventful. On to the next one!
