This sucks, I've had a cold for like a week and a half, it's pretty much gone now but my sinus' & taste buds are apparently not fully normalized & virtually every different cigar I've tried to smoke just tastes . . . off. WAY off. Almost nasty, in fact. Finally some decent weather and I still can't get a satisfying smoke!

Hang in there! Get better so you can enjoy a stogie as a celebration

I'm just coming out of a similar 2 week stretch. First the cold from Hell & then the Flu to put the cherry on top of the bull$hit sundae! I am hopeful that I get my taste & sense of smell back soon because this is really pissing me off.

When you have a cold your nose and sinuses are blocked. Are nose is what actually makes up the majority of our taste. Which is why things often taste the way they smell.

What the tongue does is react to tastes not flavors. Salty, sweet, bitter, chemicals (which is why soap spells nice but tastes like garbage).

This has been covered in many threads over.
Smoke something light if you have the urge for a cigar. I will actually smoke an RP Edge Lite when I have a cold and it does the trick! Search the thrads on this topic and you'll find many suggestion's.
Hope you feel better soon!

Same here! I was sick 2 weeks ago then ended up getting my wisdom teeth pulled last week. Haven't been able to relax and smoke in 3 weeks almost!

I went over a month recently with out smoking a stick. Sucked, sucked bad. Once I finally had one it kicked my ass with nicotine. Hope you get back to it soon.

I'm more in the boat of, "maybe this smoke will kill the virus in my sinus and speed up my recovery."

It is a waste to even attempt a cigar with a cold. I have even wasted money (smoking good cigars) learning that it takes about 10 days after the cold is officially over, before I get my palate back sufficiently to really enjoy the high end stogies, as they should be enjoyed!

Damn, looks like I'm going to be on smoking hiatus for two weeks. Not looking forward to it!
