Howdy from the Hills of Kentucky.

I heard this was a pretty cool place to hang out, from the fine folks at Puff.

I have the same user name there and have been smoking cigars for almost 2 months, now. Former cigarette addict. Quit all tobacco over a decade ago, and recently discovered I could smoke a cigar without intense cravings. So I'm back in. I still enjoy most of the gars I smoked as a kid. Fuentes, and Cohibas are still loved and what I consider "spendy." Tried a Villiger Export and discovered I'd lost my taste for them. I'm searching for "budget" brands that are yummy. So it's a fun experience.

Just finished my first Partagas, A "Princess" and the little lady kicked my ass.

I'm a National Level beer Judge and my wife is a Certified Beer Judge. Docs told me to cut waaaayyy back on the hooch, so I'm slowly learning the Top-Shelf Bourbons and Single-Malts, at the rate of a few ounces a week. I'm finding I already know most of the descriptors of such, but am weak at articulating my cigar experiences. It'll be a fun process learning the vocabulary.

We read a lot and recycle books on Amazon. Suddenly the economy has dictated that books are now a luxury, so I pick up the occasional "work at home" phone gig. Currently supporting folks through their tax-prep software. The hours are strange and it doesn't pay much, but we don't need much. And you can't beat the commute time and dress code.

Live in a modest house on several acres of trees. One lane road. Peaceful. Any random gunfire is calming, compared to life in the city. Fairly ideal, except the closest tobacconist is an hour away.

I'm not usually this wordy, but the Partagas is kicking my ass, and I felt like making a "proper" introduction.

Say, is there an easy way to change the number of posts per page? I get locked out of surfing while at work, and generally like to load my browser with dozens of threads/articles etc, to enjoy at slack times.

Gotta hit the bed, getting up early to drive to Amish country. A couple nice shops, a nice diner, and a few hours to road test some gars.

It's OK if you are jealous of our corn squeezins, our beautiful horses, and fast women.

Hey Brock.

You have a link to any threads on the subject?

It's pretty much where I am on the economic side, but I will occasionally spring for a "better" cigar (especially if it's in an affordable sampler).. Some of those are astonishingly good.

Thanks for the warm welcome,

Joe

Welcome! Not sure how far it is from you but we have a semi regular get together once a month or so at the Beer Sellar in Newport.
