Same here.......new sticks go right in my coolidor! I try and keep things right at 65/65 so it's a non-issue for me personally.
Update, I'm leaving on deployment soon (over 6 months) and for piece of mind, I am freezing everything for long term storage. Used freezer bags and suranwrap around my boxes......12 hours in fridge, two days in freezer, 24 hours back in fridge, 24 hours room temperature, then out of freezer bags into humidor and coolidor. After smoking two sticks that I just previously smoked (non freezer) and smoking the same two sticks after freezing, there was absolutely no flavor changes or burn/construction discrepancies!

Man you guys are scaring the crap out of me. I have never put anything in the freezer. Should I go ahead and do this with my supply or just keep doing what I am doing?

Yes, I freeze every cigar that comes in my door in a subzero environment for 2 weeks then move it to the fridge for a week. I thoroughly examine every stick, label them with a unique barcode and keep documents on every cigar. Sticks are rotated and examined carefully every week and that is logged as well. I also plan out the days and times I am going to smoke as well as which particular cigar a month in advance. You can never be to careful and I strongly suggest all of you do the same thing!!

I freeze everything, especially custom rolls as they would not go through the 'alleged' freezing that occurs in Cuba.

Better safe than sorry. There are many horror pictures of beetles can do to cigars.

To be even more cautious, I go through each box quarterly unless they have been wrapped in saran wrap for long term storage. Takes a couple days of do however, the piece of mind is invaluable.

I never bought into the freezer thing. just seems like a dreadful thing to do. I just quarantine my new sticks to an empty humidor for awhile.

I've had beetles before. It wasn't that bad and they were dead before they could hurt many of my smokes. They just got into a few of my Monte #2's so it gave me a reason to spark them up. And those sticks ended up being the #1 cigar on my Best of 2010 List on my blog.

After talking with Fia regarding beetle and freezing, my routine for all cigars are now 3 days minimum in -2F freezer then 1 day out in room temp before seeing my humidor. I vacuum bag them and throw them with very little air possible. Why take the chance? No need to knock on wood, no need to worry if your wineador craps out, no need to monitor them for beetles, if your AC breaks, whatever... Also, if big boys like Padron freezes all their cigars before shipping I don't see any harm in freezing at all. Just my $.02

I actually do 1 day fridge, 3-4 days freezer, 1 day fridge when I do a freeze cycle. Never had a beetle problem since I started doing that.

Yes, I freeze everything new I get. I've had one outbreak that punched a single hole in Siglo VI Tubo. That was enough to convince me. It was a cigar brought from Cuba, not an export.
