Well this is my first review on here, this cigar was gifted after the BOTL dinner in Portsmouth, NH by Rick (Cigarsc351w) at Federal Cigar.

Pre Light: Great earthy and barnyard smells as well as fresh tobacco aroma coming from this tubo once it was opened. Upon cutting I noticed that the draw was slightly loose but not too bad.

Light: I instantly got a hit of ammonia and slight black pepper on the back-end of the finish. This quickly mellowed out on both accords as the burn settled in.

First 1/3: This cigars flavors were very balanced and hard to pull out at first. I got some slight sweet dry cocoa and very nice earthy and fresh tobacco taste, with just a hint of black pepper on the back end; although some notes were masked as it still seemed to have hints of ammonia.

Second 1/3: Any hint of black pepper on the back of the palate quickly subsided as the more sweet flavors of the dry cocoa came more prominent. All the flavors were still very well balanced and nothing jumped out. More earthiness and fresh tobacco taste. By this time, the ammonia taste was still lingering if not becoming stronger as it would seem that is is coming off the end of a sick period.

Last 1/3: By this time it was clear that the last sick period would hinder me from enjoying this smoke into the last third and beyond. At this point I decided to lay this down.

This has the potential to be a very nice with a few more years (perhaps even 5+) on it. Beyond the above flavors I pulled out some creaminess, and a slight tease of floral and citrus here and there. The construction was nice and had very light (fine) veining of the leaf with only a slightly loose draw. The burn was very even and drew a good amount of smoke throughout the burn.

Thanks,

TG

I also smoked this stick this morning (thanks to Rick as well). I had a different experience than TG . I did notice the ammonia, but only very slightly. I do feel this cigar will be better with more time, but I'm wondering if removing it from the tube wouldn't make a difference. The balance of sweetness and dried pepper was awesome in the first 1/3. I only noticed the black pepper in the back of the throat in the middle 1/3 and it went away fairly quickly. The last 1/3 was more about a creamy, almost vanilla flavor, than anything else. Definitely an enjoyable experience and more fun because TG and I were smoking the stick at the same time.

Great review gunz! And interesting thought treesus...would make sense! Nice work fellas! Nothing odd about you two reviewing the same cigar at same time at two different locations:) but cool to see two perspectives!
