I hear a lot of talk about viaje limited releases but have never heard anyone mention anything about the viaje oro reserva no. 5? What are yalls thoughts on this stick? What kind of flavor profile does it have? Is it similar to the viaje exclusivo?

I've smoked them. They're good...but I can't say more than that because it was a while ago. I can say that I prefer the Platino Reserva, and smoke them regularly.
VOR#5 finished 2nd on CA's top 25 this year. I got a box but out of the gate I did not think they were spectacular. However after many months of rest I have smoked a few in the past week and these are really coming into their own. Flavors are coming out very nicely and really well balanced. This is becoming and will become a great cigar.
The VPR is smoking fantastic right now. Next to the exclusivo, it is the best Viaje I have ever had. The Platino Samurai is just a notch below the VPR. They both have a wonderful, woodsy sweetness with great complexity. Very excited to see what Vitola the VPR is in this year. Barring a 6x60, I'm in for a box. Corona Gorda please!!

Thanks for the info Brooks! I keep bugging Mark at Tower to see if he's got them in yet since there was barely a known timeframe, and all Andre would tell me on facebook is very soon haha. You have any info on the vitolas?

Not the best timing IMO, given the recent release of the Zombie! I wonder who is getting these first for distribution?
In regards to the Oro Reserve, I haven't smoked one and wouldn't begin to know where to find them!

Yes, they are the same vitola as the DES (i.e. Box Pressed double perfecto) only a bit smaller....
No word on an official release date ("soon"), but there are 200 boxes of each (VPR and VOR) and each Viaje account should get at least a few boxes...

I have some of the VOR #5s resting right now, but I haven't had one yet, so I cant tell you how they are. From everything I've heard they excellent though. One of these days Ill spark one up.

Don't know when the other accounts are getting them I have my local here that gets all the Viaje LEs, so Ill try and get some when they get them. I called them yesterday and they didn't know when they were getting them.

Burn/ Tobacco Grove. They got them when they got the Zombies I think. They have pretty much already sold all their stock for out of state and no one even knew about it. I emalied them and they had one box of the VPRs left at 290, but I don't really want a whole box.

Guys, just to let you know, a little birdie told me that Tobacco Grove is selling 25 5 packs of the VPR Reserva at 4pm today...These have NOT been released yet (and nobody knows when they will be released), as Jeff at the store got the first boxes in the country for the Zombie event...
