I just put this on top if my top five and had to se if it's still so freaking good so I dug up one of my last from this year.
This is a really nice looking cigar with only the smallest of veins and packed so hard I'm a bit afraid it's going to be plugged but the pre-draw provides only a healthy resistance. First puffs are really mild but I can still feel the potential. A couple of more draws and all the flavors are showing themselves, I got a nice mix of leather, wood and earth with a firm tobacco taste to back it up. At the end of the first third it's flavors are somewhere above medium but not medium/full and with hardly any nicotine.
At the beginning of the second third I get some spice, actually the spice has been there from the beginning but u haven't noticed it until now. Everything just blends together in beautiful harmony. Nothing is really changing during the second third but since it's delicious I don't really care
A little bit after I start the final third it changes quite drastically and becomes so much more flavorful. It is now very full bodied and on top of the previous flavors I now have a ton of nutty wood and some citrus. It is on the verge of being overwhelming but as long as you smoke it slowly it's a real pleasure. Lots and lots of lingering thick smoke and this is now a really intense smoke, not at all for the beginner I haven't noticed this in my other CEs, but this is from another box. It's hard to smoke it slowly since I want more and more so a few puffs are a bit to warm. Still ALOT of hazelnut/cedar/leather as I reach the last inch. It almost went out when I rested it a bit to long but a minor touchup was all that it wanted. Last inch gives me some peppermint and I'm smoking until my lips are burning.
Perfect construction all the way with a razor-sharp burnline all the way.
The flavors are really good and the complexity is what makes this a superb cigar. The only problem I have is that I only have one more from this year and my cab of 07 is too young.
