So I've taken to Cigarbid.com like a maniac...well not quite, but working on it.

Since I ordered my Avallo, I figured I should have a few boxes to throw in it when it gets setup outside of my singles I will fill the drawer with. So I went on a bit of a spree:

Oliva Sweet 16 Sampler - 16 Cigars
Pinar Del Rio Habano Sun Grown 2007 Churchill (25)
Joya de Nicaragua Antano Dark Corojo Sampler - 5 Cigars
Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Corona Maduro - 5-Pack
5 Vegas Series 'A' Artisan (20)
Oliva Serie 'O' Maduro Churchill (20)

Then from JRCigars Dutch Auction:

MARIA MANCINI - MAGIC MOUNTAIN (20) Box

So all in all I picked up 101 cigars for an average price of $3.36/stick

:blob:

Not to bad eh? :)

Hard to beat some of their prices. Some crap too, but when you can get good sticks under $4/per I think my Avallo will fill up quicker than imagined. :)

it's called the devil site for a reason, things can get out of had quickly. I go there every now and then all i look at are the freefall auctions, that way don't get caught in a bidding war.

Wouldn't you like to know?
Biggest problem for me with things like cbid is you end up filling your Humi with stuff you are buying just because it is cheap. I started that way then had to give a ton of cigars to friends to make room for the stuff I actually wanted to age. Quantity is exciting in the beginning but quickly fades as your tastes develop and you look at the 1000 cigar collection and still can't find something you want to smoke. I am sure you will love the new Avallo but watch out for that cbid site.

I understand what you are saying but for me at this point in my life, I can only afford maybe 5-6 really nice sticks a week or every 2 weeks. I just can't drop $180-$220 (or more) for a box of 25 AF cigars. So for me to always have an abundance of cigars in the humidor I have to look for the bargin bundles. Sor far I've done it at my local B&M and I've not resorted to cigarbid.....yet.

I'm not to worried about buying to buy. I'm not that way. I only buy what I like to smoke and I've been smoking cigars since college and I've been out for 17 years. Regardless of what my wife thinks I have self control...I just don't exercise it often enough for her.

Out of the ones I listed above, there isn't one that I only kinda like. And being that I'll easily keep 10-15 boxes in the Avallo, at under $4/ea it's all good.

Amen! I visit every day to "window shop". Rarely do I actually pull the trigger on something unless I'm actually looking for it.

True that, I usually don't buy from there unless I've had it, liked it, and am looking for some more or I want to try it and there's a superbly good deal.

Just be careful what you buy, case in point...this thread:
