ebay is your friend if you do some research. At one time I had 6 pairs of spikes. All of them were bought on ebay, and I have never paid anywhere close to retail.

If you buy a pair, buy a pair based upon the fit...not the name.

Buy used clubs. You'll save a ton of money and get good quality gear. Most major golf stores have a good used section. Find something that fits your eye and play a ton.

I second the suggestion of playing a bit before you invest alot of cash. You may get out there and decide you don't like it much. Most courses rent quality clubs you can play with. You may find something you like that way too.

This is a great starter club.

It's made from hickory, which is a sturdy hardwood that is also dense and heavy.

It's 15 pounds, so barely qualifies as a starter, since the intermediate clubs weigh in at 18 pounds or more

I could give you tons of tips on choosing clubs, accesories and other golf related stuff, but infact the only thing you REALLY should focus on is hitting the ball! $200-250 will be enough to purchase a descent pre-owned set.

* Get some clubs your eyes will like
* Try a diffr. sets out and choose the ones that feels best in your hand/s.
* Skip the driver for a wile, until you feel more secure with hitting the ball. Use the D only at the range.
* Practise, practise and practise! Mostly on the green and the range! big + if your club has a short par 3 course..
* And the most important thing: Don't forget too have FUN!

It's not in the clubs, it's in YOU!

I bought the same set last year. (A7os) While I'm still not that great with them when I get ahold of one of the hybrids man it makes the ball jump with little effort. Have fun
