Hey Guys!

We all have, I'm sure, quite a repertoire of cigars among us. But, for me at least, there's one cigar that is what I call my "sh!t stick." It's not that it's a bad cigar... it's just that life at that moment just happens to be... well, you get the picture. It's a pick me up. And it happens to be Romeo y Julieta 1875.

So, what's your sh!t stick?

Interesting question...I have felt down in the dumps before and looked for a smoke to serve as a pick me up, but interestingly enough, it's not the high end stick or the barnyard cigar that serves this purpose. For me, it's a cigar that goes back to the roots of why I started smoking cigars in the first place. Solid, NC smokes that I enjoyed while hanging out with my tennis buddies after our ALTA matches.

My two favorite pick-me-up sticks are the LGC Churchill Maduro and the Padron Londres. These are cigars that are nostalgic to me and I can close my eyes and remember good times with good friends. Sometimes it's good to go back in our cigar journey and revisit some cigars from our youth.

Right now my Sh*t stick when life happens is Arturo Fuente Sungrown Chateau Beliosco (mainly because I'm down to 3 Opus). Now if my golf game goes to Sh*t then I reach for a Nub Conneticut. It's a nice short smoke that I don't mind not being able to really enjoy. The nub normally has me back on my game in less then 2 holes.

cc Upmann petite corona always brings back good memories. When I don't have any I light a Graycliffe crystal corona. Nothing but enjoyment and good memories.

One of them for me is an Anejo, I can pretty much count on them to give me a very good experience, sometimes outstanding one depending on the year. Plenty of body and flavor with a great burn. No need to focus on it just kick back and enjoy and let whatever is ailing me rise off my shoulder with the smoke.

When I have a crappy day, which has been happening a lot lately at work, I dont have a go to stick per say but I do look forward to a good smoke with a strong whiskey to get my mind off. A good stick and few hours of quiet time to collect myself is all I need.
