So, I'll be going to Vegas the first weekend in June to celebrate my birhtday. My daughter and son-in-law are flying from New York to meet us. Anybody got suggestions regarding shows to see, places to visit, cigar shops/lounges to visit, etc., for a Vegas virgin?

For sure check out Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops at Caesars. It's greatness!

Have a great time! There's sooo much to do and see that it's hard to get it done on just one visit.

Check out Pheasant Cigars, out by the Palace Station casino. Pretty sure Vegan702 hangs out there.

Good shop, comfortable lounge, nice walkin, and the owner Paul is a great guy.

Casa Fuente for sure. Just don't spend money on the stuff you can get elsewhere. Get a mojito there, they are great.
The blue man group was a great show and also most of the cirque du Soleil are great but can be expensive. You can see anywhere in those venues though.
The food is great, a lot of off the strip places and also on the strip. Depends on what you want to spend. Check out the light show on Fremont, walk through all the casinos and take it all in. It can be expensive or it can be reasonable, all about what you want.
Stay at the Palace Station, there deluxe tower rooms are not to shabby.

I enjoyed Blue Man Group quite a bit, my wife thought it was ok.

If you want something a bit more risque, a buddy of mine swears by Zumanity at Luxor.

Casa Fuente is must, as already noted.

There are a number of good sports books out there, my favorite is probably Mandalay... Wynn is good too but I don't like gambling there. CA just had an article about the new electronic sports gaming options at a couple of hotels but I can't remember which ones.

Craft Steak (MGM) is a great restaurant to check out - a variation of the Craft restaurants. I think they have a whisky pairing meal option as well.

Actually, if you are in to food... I mean really into food... MGM Grand has one of the only 3 Michelin star restaurants in the US. This is one of those places where they bring out a platter just for the appetizer bread. They have over 30 types of appetizer bread.

If you are taking kids, the shark reef at Mandalay was cool (it was ok, but my nephew really liked it). Same with the dolphin exhibit at Mirage.

I would check ahead to see what special shows may be happening, especially at the House of Blues in Mandalay (this is a hot/cold spot), and at Caesars (i.e. Seinfeld plays there a lot).

If you like Pete Rose, he is ALMOST ALWAYS signing autographs in the forum shops just down from Casa Fuente. Probably paying off a debt to the casino... (kidding, kidding!)

Mandalay has some decent concerts too so I'd check ahead there.

If you like Minor League baseball, LV has a team... the 51s... there are games in June, of course.

Deuling Pianos in the New York New York are a good time (assuming they still have it, been about a year or so I think since I went to that).

Bellagio buffet is good (Wynn's is awesome too but I like Bellagio more, same for Rio), Caesars has a nice coffee shop for breakfast.

If I can think of more I'll post... it has been a while since I've really hung out on the strip - we usually stay out at Lake Las Vegas or at Green Valley Ranch when we go anymore.

another vote for casa fuente. For cirque shows, love if you like the beatles. KA and O are the 2 to see if you had to choose.

Dinner at Bouchon or Michael Mina's for something special.

Have a great time.

Ditto. Try a Casa Fuente Lancero if they have any in. Awesome cigar, and the best value there, imvho.

We saw "The Rat Pack Show" and liked it--a must if you're a Sinatra fan. The Buffet at the Bellagio is great if you like buffets, you can smoke stogies in the casino/piano lounge there as well.

The Ribeye at "Sensi" at the Bellagio is probably the best steak I've ever had ... Seriously.

Ah yes - I should've mentioned the lancero. Last time I was there they were limiting it to 2 per person... which I think is what they normally do.

Also, not sure if it is the same as the piano lounge you mentioned, but the lounge right by the lobby/check-in area at the Bellagio is a great place to have a cigar and people watch.

I know the Don Carlos lancero is limited to two per person. If they even have them. If they do have them buy what you can cause they are great.
