You know, the ones that you self-calibrate? I bought a couple new ones recently, calibrated all of mine in one shot and distributed them throughout my wine cooler and igloo'dor. Within two months I've lost two. I have no idea if they were both the new ones as I didn't mark the new ones when they came in. Based on the magnet and steel pieces on the new ones I would be willing to say that I'm ALMOST sure that one of them was new, just not sure about the others. They both just went blank. I replaced batteries to no avail. They would read, but it was ridiculously dim to the point where you couldn't really tell what the reading was.

Just curious if this is an isolated issue or if any others have seen it.

Got them in yesterday and cant get them to calibrate. I turn the dial and nothing changes. Read the directions and it doesnt say to do this or that before turning the knob. Am I forgetting something or did I buy junk?

Are you turning the knob BEFORE pressing the SET button?

Matt, why do you want to reset? Just put the hygrometers in with the Boveda kit and then adjust the reading. Though I'm guessing that yes, removing the battery might reset, I don't get the need?

FYI, as a side note, the vendor I last bought hygrometers from saw this post and offered to replace them. Top notch service.

This thread is not meant to disparage these products, was just wondering if anyone else was having issues.

Nevermind ... got it figured out. I was quickly calibrating them off of the desktop hygo that I just calibrated a few weeks ago.
