Saint Luis Rey Regios vs. Vegas Robaina Famosos

OK, so my first forays into the world of CC's has netted some CG's and Dalia's. I really enjoy the medium ring-gauges but, now I'm looking at adding a box of something in the Hermoso No. 4 vitola.

Here are the two sticks I'm considering:

- Saint Luis Rey Regios

- Vegas Robaina Famosos

Which do you prefer and, most importantly, WHY?

Two different cigars but I like them about equally well. Tough choice. I went with the Regios as the current ones are smoking pretty good. Try to find some late 08's if possible.:drool:

Iused to be a big SLR Serie A & Regio fan, but both seemed to have a blend change in 2006. Now they taste rather herbal. I'll go with the cocoa flavor of the Famoso.

I'm just the opposite of you Bass man. The Regios and A's that were pre 2006 never really did much for me. Heard about the blend change and gave them a try and enjoy them much more now.

VR's would be my choice, but to be fair I don't have much experience with the SLRs.

Only smoked one SLR so I won't vote. But I will say that VR Famosos are really delicious cigars!

The VR is a very good cigar but I'd go with the SLR regios cab

Never had the SLR so I won't vote but I can say that the Famoso is my current, reasonably priced, favorite stick.

Agree with hot sauce recent Regios have been good. Late 08 were very good. It seemed the tobacco used was of very good quality. More recent stuff has been good as well. The VR profile doesnt appeal to me.

Smoked the VR Famosos yesterday. Pretty good stick with some pretty significant cocoa flavors after the musky vanilla flavors went away. A good stick for a decent price.
