Today i had my second H. Upmann Coronas Major.
The deal is i have different Habanos that are moderately priced that i can smoke while i let the little bit more expensive flagship cousins and brothers age undisturbed.
This corona came from a box coded LEU MAY 10.
One of the happiest ways to start a sunday.
This particular corona drew with a little bit less firmness than the typical habano but still had a bit of resistance to it. The burn on the cigar was nice.
The first third of the cigar disappoints in that it it is clearly not ready yet with absolutely none of refinement that i am used to with the cigars i have had of this brand.
I am fortunate in that the flavor smooths out and i begin to enjoy the smoke and remember why H. Upmann is my favorite brand.
This Upmann had a bit more pop than normal. By pop i mean strength. The flavors are also a bit stronger than a petit corona but they are not so pronounced. The smoke right now is pretty unrefined but i am positive that time will smooth out it's roughness, sharpen the flavors and transform it into the elegant H. Upmann i like.
Would i buy another box ? Absolutely ! So far there is nothing remarkable or outstanding about this box of coronas. The flavors are not very pronounced and it is definitely not ready but i really like the flavor, body and strength of this cigar. It just works for me.
One of the fun things for me is that since these come in tubos i hope they improve like i think they will so i can enjoy them is 2,4, 6,and 10 years from now God willing.
mmmmmm toothy...
