Hey fellas,

I am in Ft. Lauderdale this week and want to know if anyone can recommend a cigar factory that is worth visiting / touring.

Thanx in advance,
Dan

If I remember correctly el rey de los habanos is on calle ocho and 11th...diagonal from there is el titan de bronze but has a very small "store front" and a little south of there is casa fernandez. Didn't catch the gentleman's name but he is very nice and helpful.

If you are interested in a break and want a cuban coffee and sandwich head up to cafe versailles on calle ocho and 39th-42nd ish. Across the street is the sosa family cigar shop. Juan Sosa is very nice and helpful too.

A word of advice. I was there at the end of March and went to little havana on saturday and pepins shop was closed. I suggest researching where you want to go and plan it in advance. I winged it and came up empty.

Bring cash and plastic too....atm's aren't in abundance and if you are lucky to find one, it may not have a lot of money to dispense.

If you're looking for an awesome lounge with a very well stocked walk-in humidor, check out el clique cigar lounge which is down the street from Casa Fernandez. Well stocked bar as well.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Yep, all within walking distance, save for Padron a few streets over. Hit that one on the way out. When I went I cleaned out the Pepin 2nds, blue label torps for $2.50 a pop!

There are a good amount of shops right on Calle Ocho, basically you just drive down the street and spot the shops/small factories. I went to the Padron's factory in January, but it was a little farther north. The only thing is that the Padron's factory in Miami is only boxing and packaging, so it would be a wise idea to miss it if you are pressed for time.
If you really need something, I still have a printable email I got that can give you some factories and cigar shops on Calle Ocho.
