I was thinking it would be good to have a thread where beer geeks can collectively share their knowledge of craft brews in order to help shed some light on the subject for those brothers who may feel too "in the dark" to pop open something new.

For example:

-If you like Blue Moon, then you'll love Avery White Rascal or Allagash White

-If you like Young's Double Chocolate Stout, then you'll love Rogue Chocolate Stout

Also, If a brother wants a recommendation, then they can come and say "I like x, y, & z. Is there anything else out there for me?"

I'm just puttin' it out there because I really miss doin' this sort of thing when I was a "beer-tender" at a spot down here in SD.

If you like New Castle then you'll love...

Fat Tire Amber
People say this all the time... but I don't get it. Love me some Newcastle, but hate Fat Tire (actually, all New Belgium beers as they all taste about the same)

In rebuttal:
If you like Newcastle, then you'll probably like Fischer, too but...

If you like Newcastle, then you'll love Alesmith Nautical Nut Brown

You know what might be fun...

If we turned this into a game based off the previous post, it'd probably develop a lot of quality recommendations quickly. For instance, building from the last post...

If you like Sam Adams Double Bock, you'll love Paulaner Salvator or Spaten Optimator.

(Then I leave the next bit for the next poster as follows:)

If you like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale...

One of the best beers to date that I have had the pleasure of pairing with one of my favorite cigars is Cigar City Brewing company's Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale. It went very well with my Padron 26 and it had very nice toasted cocoa flavor. A must try! Found it similar to the Rogue Chocolate Stout.

I'm into this... especially since we've gotten way off topic with brothers recommending Fosters (which is not 'craft,' but more like the beer-equivalent of a Macanudo Gold Label) and there are too many references to "New Castle" which is actually spelled "Newcastle," - named for the city it was developed in. (Sorry, brothers... I get a little uptight about beer and intended this to be a collaborative effort to pool beer-knowledge.) With that said:

If you like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale...
...then you should try Red Hook IPA - its about as hoppy, with slightly maltier body and higher ABV

...or, then you should try Stone IPA - while similar in body, it has more pronounced hop characteristics and higher ABV

If you like Boddington's Cream Ale...
