I read about guys dry boxing cigars for a day or so prior to smoking.

When is this necessicary?

I have my cigars stored in a vinodor set at 65 degrees & 65% RH.

I guess I could use my old humi without any humidification to dry box... just dont know if its needed???

BTW my smokes all burn just fine.

I have only done it when a stick was newer or if I had burn issues with a particular stick. I tend to do this with corona sized or smaller CC's as well, seems to help the burn/draw as at times I found them rolled a little too tight. If your stuff is burning/smoking good then you wouldn't need to do it.

This is all you need to know.

To answer more fully, you don't need to worry about dry boxing if your cigars are smoking fine. Dry boxing is a way to get overly humidified (wet) cigars to a more smokeable condition. For instance, some folks store their long-term aging smokes at a higher RH than their ready-to-go smokes. If they decided they wanted to try one of the smokes they were long term aging, they might dry-box that smoke over a couple of days instead of putting it with the ready-to-go smokes (doing which would mean it would take longer for the cigar to acclimate to the correct RH).
