I'm on a FOB in Afghanistan. It took 6 days for an order to come in from CigarsInternational. But that was a record. Orders can take as long as two or three weeks depending on the time of year, so you may want to work with a vendor who can throw a humidity pack or something in with your shipment.
Shoppettes here do sell single cigars, but they are at full MSRP. You'll save a lot of money ordering, even after shipping. What I've seen here so far are mostly the Cuesta Rey brands (Centanario, Brick House, la Unica, El Baton) Also they recently got some Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuentes. Your results may vary depending on where you are. And distilled water may be hard to come by, so you may want to bring a humidification device that doesn't require distilled water. (Humidistats, for example) Or just bring beads over with the realization that you should replace them when you get back if you can't get your hands on distilled.
I've seen ambient humidity as low as 4% during the hot days. So if you don't have a good seal, your humidor could get sucked dry quickly. Also, you may not be able to get your hands on butane refills as the shoppettes only carry zippo fluid.
Stay safe over here! Good luck.
