Pretty sure this is a fake Cohiba I bought at my local B/M. I'm not too concerned really cause I kind of thought it when I bought it and it was only $5 anyway but wanted to get thoughts on this.

It was advertised as a 40th anniversary, 1966-2006 Siglo. Here's a photo I found on line of the exact band that my cigar has.

Do any of you confront your local B/M when you see this stuff going on or do you just let it slide as no big deal?

Why confront them, they either know they are fake or know they are breaking the law. Either way, it does no good to confront them as nothing good will come of it. All that will happen is bad feelings between both.

Buying cuban cigars from a B&M in the state, one has to assume it is a fake.

Well, to their defense, they weren't selling it as a CC. If you know what I mean. They advertised it a bit different then that. From looking on line, I can't find that this even an actual brand of a cigar......I guess that was more my point.

The reason it bothers me, and I'm not going to confront them, is that it makes me wonder what else I'm buying in there.

No, it's not a red dot....it's exactly the same as the photo on the link. From the research I've done on line, it appears, but I could be wrong, that this cigar isn't even a fake of anything that exists...it was just created to appear as a LE or HTF line of Cohiba. I could be wrong on that and am hoping someone here can shed some light on this cigar.

I would have issue. Either they know they are selling fakes and would question their integrity or two they have no idea and question their intelligence. Shop somewhere else.
That's exactly the conclusion I'm coming to.....

From what I read and understand, it is not cuban, and it is not a real red dot cohiba so fake in both regards.

I have read it may be from the other brand that was using Cohiba before they got sued but who knows... Fake either way.

If you bought it at a B&M in OH, not only is it most-likely fake, but real or not they broke the law.
Just saying it was bought at a B&M in the states does not ean it is fake. I have bought severla legit CCs in the B&Ms in Socal. Of course one does pay a premium that is no longer worth my while.

I understand sale of legit cc's does happen at some B&Ms, which is why I said "most-likely" and not "definitely". But either way, sales of real CC's and fake CC's alike is illegal at B&Ms in the US.

I do not see cuban cigar anywhere in the ad and it says Dominican Republic right on the box. Nice looking cigar. Cuban no. Lots of sticks out there that look like CC's.

I assumed Dominican before even seeing the box. I could be mistaken, but I thought a DR outfit was copying the Cohiba logo/style and selling it as a DR product. I have one, and I think it is fairly old too, the band doesn't look like this, but it has the Cohiba logo without the word Cohiba.

Probably a perfectly fine DR cigar that was made in an attempt to ride Cohiba's coattails.
