Certifiable.
Recently, Benzopyrene posted an iso for Funky Buddha lounge bacon maple coffee porter.
Turnd out I don't live too far from the place and Torin is a member of this place. So we decided to meet up for a few beers.
I ran late, damn lines at walmart and all, but got there about 30 minutes late...no biggie.
Started with breakfast, Imperial maple bacon coffee porter, they have some interesting name for it...for a 10.5 abv it wasn't too strong, the coffee flavors over power the rest of the flavors, almost tasted like a mocha coffee beer...pretty solid...
Then moved on to a blueberry beer...not normally a fruity beer fan, but this one was clean, it had tons of blueberry flavor and a clean almost refreshing taste to it, almost like a blueberry cider...but cleaner.
Moved on to a PB & J beer...didn't love the nose on this...smelled like fresh peanuts...and tasted pretty good...it was more peanuts with currant jelly, was hoping for more grape jelly...
oh and met a coupe guys smoking outside...in my rush forgot my cigars(Torin did too) and they were smoking an Oliva V, and an OR LFD factory press...they handed me a pretty solid little smoke from Nica...
was feeling pretty good at this point, ordered a pretzel and a red dawn red ale...pretzel was good and hot, but the ale was muddy and my least favorite...didn't have the flavors of the others...
After we decided to go to some friends house for some ribs(I didn't cook em) and some smoked corn...did a simple rub on the ribs and basted with a base of chocolate balsamic, sweet baby rays and some homemade piri piri sauce...
overall a good day/night.
