A buddy is going to Vegas for the next UFC. Was thinking of having swing my a cigar shop, and buy a box of something so he can bring it back to Canada, duty free.

Are the prices in Vegas ridicules or on par with everywhere else, like say Michigan or NY state?

Depends. On the strip, yeah you'll pay way more. If you hit up one of the shops around town that aren't catering so much to the tourists then you'll get better prices. Also depends on what you're looking for...

Not sure about prices off the strip, but I can tell you prices on the strip are insane. I'm heading there Wednesday and will be bringing my own cigars. I do occasionally stop in Casa Fuente in Cesars and over pay for a cigar and a drink just to do it, but not everytime.

I would PM Vegan702, he lives in Vegas and I'm sure he would suggest the best places to go.

the only cigars i would recommend in vegas would be the casa fuente lanceros from casa fuente in caesars forum shops. peasant cigars off the strip would be a good place to get other cigars.

Casa Fuente is the place to go if you want something that may not be easily obtainable. That might be worht paying for - your call. Outside of that, I'd look off strip.

If you want to buy a box off the strip at a great price, go to Paiute Indian Smoke Shop. Its about 1/2 mile outside of downtown on Main St.

a quick cab ride to phesant is all you need, call and ask for Andrew he is a good friend of mine. okay, casa funete if you want something extremly rare they will have it. However, a padron 80th there was 150 dollars, off the strip the can be had for about 30 dollars.

I have been to Vegas a couple of times and yes the Funete girls are hot as hell.

hope it helps,

jon

Third shout out for Pheasant. Walked in off the street with my wife and spent like 6 hours in there. Andrew and Paul (I think?) were great guys - and Paul can talk hockey too - they even have a couple Team Canada jerseys on the wall to make you feel welcome James! Definitely worth the trip.

A forth for Pheasant or Cigar Box off strip for normal pricing.

On strip, Casa for your Opus/Forbidden stuff but prices are outrageous. But it's stuff you can't really buy elsewhere. If he wants a box, he best have a gold card and there's no box discount. But you can get a great drink there and people watch all day. :)

If he want to sit and have a smoke, head to Rhumbar at the Mirage and sit outside...Awesome atmosphere.

Rhumbar is a great place to smoke. It's owned by Ashton. They hav a small humidor. Looking at $20 for a cheap cigar and $40 for something decent.

Pheasant and CigarBox for off strip purchases. Casa Fuente for Casa Fuente or HTF Opus products. Casa Fuente to sit inside and enjoy a smoke or Rhumbar to sit outside and enjoy a smoke. Rhumbar has misters to keep the temps down, but it will still be hot this time of year. Typically everyone brings their own sticks to Rhumbar and Casa. Pricing off strip is in line with other states and definitely lower than Canada. We have 30% tobacco tax in NV, so figure MSRP plus 30% and 8.1% for sales tax. Pheasant will discount box purchases 10-20% depending on product, CigarBox doesn't usually. However, CigarBox has one of the most extensive Opus selections you will find outside of Casa Fuente. Was there yesterday and they had 10 different facings of Opus on the shelf.
