Luck of the draw?

With all the 09 hype I decided to give the 08 Verite another shot earlier this week. Man was it nice. This cigar always had great flavor but the quality was disappointing til now. I'll let the pictures tell the story. There was not a single touchup and only ashed three times but could've probably smoked it with only two( my fault). Guess my phone does alright pics.

All the hype got me thinking about picking up some 09 but I really didn't want to with my experiences with the 08. Just really disappointed me with the knowing part and still putting out a product that Pete thought might be subpar. Don't know if the stars were aligned this day or what but that cigar was great. It had a straight burn line almost throughout and in that one shot of off line, it corrected itself. One thing I did do differently before smoking this cigar was wetting it by licking the whole thing evenly. Never done this to the whole cigar but maybe that helped this time. I usually do this to the foot before lighting. Ya that's my pops' pond and I havent smoked there in years. It used to be the place I did when I was just starting to smoke cigars. I forgot all about that spot but not anymore. Will be visiting pops more often lol. Actually he still has my humidor so I go there often anyways. The wife wouldn't really like the humidor where we're at now cuz its too big to go anywhere. Plus his house is a lot cooler in the summer.

The 2008 is a fantastic smoke. It is my stick of 2011. Proper rest did this stick wonders.

I was a little disappointed with the 08 on my first try. didn't touch one again until 2 months ago, then a couple weeks ago. With the time down, it really brought out those muted flavors, and I think it is a really good smoke now. I'm glad I held onto all them, in fact, I'll end up getting another box most likely

Man, I wish I had that luck. I do like these alot but mine have all split at some point while smoking. I now it's not how I store them because there in with the rest of my Tat's that have no issues. I just pulled an 08 out last week and it split on me. I really want the 09's but for the price I'm balking.

Yes my humidor sits in that rh% range.
