I've know some guys take there bombed cigars and try to smoke thru them for a couple of reasons. I most of the time put them away with a short description of the marca, vitola, who gifted me it as well as the date. I use the blank cigar bands most of us have acquired.
I was in the mood for one more smoke tonight having only one other today. I went downstairs to the vino to see what would peak my interest. I found a Zona Del Este gifted to me by Bob(HDroadglide) It dates 8-5-09. Yes thats almost exactly 2 years of resting. Bob and I have had the pleasure of herfing several times since then. Have shared great food, libations, many laughs and even bombed each other since then. What a great feeling to be sitting outside tonight. Drinking a Gum ball Head beer, listening to BB King, smoking this Tatuaje ZDE and reliving some of the memories of all the great botl I've been fortunate enough to have met.
If you don't have any of these bands send me a pm I'll get a few out to you. Take some bombed cigars from some of the gents here, mark them how, what and when. Let them sit for awhile buried. Pull them back out at a later date and I'm sure you'll have the same smile I have right now tonight. Btw this Este DOES NOT SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

My wife asks me why I spend as much time as I do here. This friends, is one of the reasons why. This is a great place to hang out with truly great men (and women) of the leaf.

Good deal man thanks for sharing.

I've been needing to pick up some of the blank bands for sometime now. Can you point in the right direction to purchase some?

No offense to heartfelt guys but they are NOT the same bands and many guys do not use the heartfelt bands. The just dont hold together well after placing them on your cigars. Send me a pm and I'll get a few out to a couple of guys. The other bands most have here are only available thru group buys once a year.

I just use a little tape for extra holding power. I got sucked into buying some of the ones that don't hold long.

I print out labels that have all that information. Since I already buy cigars all over the country, I like to keep track on the what and where already. When it's a gift, I do the same thing, just replacing the shop name with the name of the gifter. It's nice for a few reasons-one is that whenever I pull out one of those sticks, I think back to the time we were together and shared some smokes.

I print on heavy duty paper, cut to size, glue with pectin. They hold great and look so much better than my chicken scratch on a odd shaped band.

I think that's why this site means so much to me. It's not so much the cigar as it is the friendships made along the way.
Sounds like it worked that way for you too bro!
